I was wondering if it would be technically feasible to have an option to reduce the size (and even hide) of the lateral series preview bar

Sure. It's already in our to-do list :-) Permanent preview bar makes difficult using two-monitor setups (with one RadiAnt window resized to fit both monitors).

r u going to implement this feature in first 2013 release?

hiding preview bar would allow to have slighly larger viewports

Oh! I Already find in a other post...

- Toggle series preview bar visibility (CTRL+SHIFT+F4).
- Toggle toolbar and status bar visibility (CTRL+SHIFT+F3).
