Patient Protocol

Some of the series of a study are termed as Patient Protocol (Series number 501). When I open it in RadiAnt, it shows a table with different fields such as Patient Position H-SP. However, when I open it with Pydicom's dcmread, I can only see a black picture. It seems like this is happens because the pixel array of the Pydicom object only has values of zeroes. Is there a way for me to display the actual patient protocol dicom file using Pydicom?

I guess a Pydicom forum would be a better place to ask this question... We don't use Pydicom, so cannot help you.
