C-STORE SCU from the database/current study would be a game changer as well, and It should be much more simple to implement then "DICOM Server".
Query/retrieve (C-FIND SCP) sounds much more complex, and it's understandable It will take some time, yet simple study push... would be a game changer for me, even with limited or no transfer syntax conversion (Radiant2Radiant and Radiant to pacs that can convert on his own would do).
Full Q/R, separating database to a service etc sounds like a long and not a necessary way.

We probably won't be releasing C-STORE SCU without full transfer syntax conversion. It would give RadiAnt a bad name if people would be able to store some files while having issues with others...

Sounds reasonable - most users won't understand it. On the other hand some of us would appreciate even alpha quality features... Radiant Insider program for registered users! ; ))

Big Blue is IBM. IBM acquired Merge. Merge developed eFilm.

April Fools' Day?

This is not an April fools joke, they sent out a mass email indicating they are shutting down eFilm and will no longer support it or allow it to function after the paid licenses have expired.

We have been using eFilm for ages and I came across Radiant looking for a replacement. It supports multiplanar reformatting, exporting of images or videos, 3D volume rending, all the things we need in a replacement. Plus it looks like you actually take pride in your software and push updates regularly, which is a huge change from eFilm.
The only thing that seems much more involved and is going to cause havok and confusion for my regular users is creating CDs or packages with DICOM images and a lite viewer. With eFilm you can just right click the study from the local list and create a package or burn a CD, it packs the images and viewer into a folder and it is super simple. Radiant seems really overly complicated and time consuming to create a requested patient DICOM data set, but maybe I am missing something.

@Radiant Team
Just another scriptable, boring stuff.
You could create DICOMDIR with dcmtk dcmmkdir (actually optional), add Radiant CD version or even let user bundle study with weasis, windows CD as directory should do in terms of disk burn.
The only problem I see is that Radiant paths and filenames here are userfriendly rather than DICOM-standard friendly.

We will probably figure something out. Unless DICOM CDs go into oblivion earlier ;-)

customers and surgeons "in love" with CD/DVD dicoms... they hate email. And we hate they USB-drives :)
But I'm about dicom-server. Efilm dicom server Brilliant. I hope for dicom-server from radiant.
Please at last first simple step - dicom app must become service-started app, wich can accept pacs without starting main window.
