This version mostly includes bug fixes:

- certain color images weren't displayed properly
- during export with disabled annotations there were still rulers and directions overlays
- holding SHIFT while opening folder for scanning prevents RadiAnt from clearing thumbnails of previously opened series
- new About window shows license details
- installer detects running RadiAnt and automatically terminates process so no reboot is necessary

- holding SHIFT while opening folder for scanning prevents RadiAnt from clearing thumbnails of previously opened series

this is a great new feature, I was going to open a thread asking for it but you anticipated me.

It would be perfect if the SHIFT trick worked also when opening zip files.

it seems that the new folders only supports folders

We will extend this feature so that it works also with zip archives in the next release.

great!!!

what about having an item in the "open" dropdown menu?

actually you have:
- open DICOM file
- open zip file
- open folder

I'm thinking about a menu list like:
- open DICOM file
- open zip file
- open folder
------
- append DICOM file
- append zip file
- append folder

with the append commands you would load a new study without clearing the existing series.

I think it would be more user friendly and intuitive to have such menu items instead of just "hold SHIFT"

new user wha haven't read about this feature would probably never use it.

in another thread you said that: "we try to keep the interface self explaining."

that would be self explaining, indeed.

instead if they have such items they will probably try and learn by themselves

That would be in fact more intuitive than holding SHIFT. Thanks for a good idea!

Yes, a new beta version should be available for download by the end of this week.

However, overlay support won't be included in that beta. We hope to add this feature later in July...

OK, sooner or later that's a feature that must be added.

wainting 'till July sounds reasonable

regarding the holding SHIFT case loading you previously said:

as far as I see, this SHIFT trick still works only for folder and not for zip files.

as I suggested, once implemented, it would be better to enable this feature in the dropdown menu (much user friendly and intuitive than SHIFT holding)

actually you have:
- open DICOM file
- open zip file
- open folder

My proposal is to change it with:

- open DICOM file
- open zip file
- open folder
------
- append DICOM file
- append zip file
- append folder

SHIFT works with zip files, too. You just have to drag&drop zip files one at a time.

As for opening different files and folders with or without clearing previously opened images - I'm leaning towards a unified window where you could select anything you want and also specify whether to clear opened files or not.
