This time we have a few under-the-hood improvements. They result in significant reduction of CD/DVD loading times. See this chart:
http://t.co/ovi8hbFoff
There are also further refinements in large multi-frame files handling (previous version could hang when browsing such files).
Last but not least, we fixed a problem with opening zip files that have non-standard characters in a filename (thanks Tommy!).
Let us know if you feel the difference while loading studies directly from CD/DVD media.
Greetings,
Maciej

I forgot about a new command-line parameter that was asked for:
-cl
it closes all running instances of RadiAnt DICOM Viewer (handy if you run the viewer from other software with predefined image set and want only one RadiAnt window).

WOW!!!! IMPRESSIVE!!!
tested with a 318 MB CD-ROM containging 1742 DICOM files.
loading time is:
- 3'15'' with 1.71 beta
- 1'02'' with 1.73 beta
RadiAnt is the "Usain Bolt" of DICOM readers!!!

Tommy, there were some improvements in 1.7.1 version as well, so I'm not sure if your test is accurate (pretty big difference). Did you restart the computer before testing a CD for the second time? If not, then it may have been read from cache.
For the test to be accurate please reboot the computer after reading a CD in one version (I recommend testing 1.1.8 vs. 1.7.3).
Thanks,
Maciej

you are right... the 2nd try was that fast because of cache read.
retried after reboot and real loading times are:
- 3'15'' with 1.71 beta
- 2'56'' with 1.73 beta
which is still a 19" improvement from 1.71
