by RadiAnt
This is the general release of our viewer with the PACS client functionality.

New features:

- PACS client functionality - search and download studies from PACS servers/workstations/modalities.
- New integration possibilities - command line parameters for searching and downloading studies from PACS nodes using specified DICOM tags.
- "Split series" feature detects multiple volumes contained in one series (e.g. arterial/venous post-contrast, DWI, cardiac CT multi-phase) and opens them in separate panels.
- "Duplicate window" feature (CTRL+SHIFT+N) - opens a new viewer window with the same image series as in the active window.
- Series from the same study opened in multiple windows can now be synchronized and fused. Also, cross-reference lines are supported across multiple windows.
- Dedicated window presets for PET modality (0.5, 1, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 percent of the entire dynamic range of the displayed series).

Improvements and bug fixes:

- In series consisting of multiple volumes (sequences), MPR is applied to the volume whose frame is currently displayed.
- Improved display of PET images with small pixel values (especially those without attenuation correction).
- Improved calculation of the default contrast/brightness values for PET images.
- Default color look-up table for PET changed to Hot Iron.
- Fixed MPR and Fusion functionality for special type of PET images (Siemens scanner).
- Improved export of all opened series.
- "Exit" menu item in popup menu under "Folder" toolbar button (Ctrl+Alt+F4). If multiple windows are opened, application can be also closed by pressing CTRL key while closing one of the RadiAnt windows.
- RadiAnt is automatically restarted after new language is chosen or a license key is imported.
- Enhanced support for compressed images.
- Fixed display of rare ultrasound images.
- Fixed drag&drop folder and files to RadiAnt running with admin privileges.
- Under Windows XP, the Service Pack 3 is now required during setup.
- Improved stability, lowered memory usage, other small fixes.

Thanks, Tommy! Took a bit longer than initially expected... Quality over quantity ;-)

Congratulations for your excellent viewer, it becomes more and more popular in Poland and I'm not afraid to say it's going to be legendary one :) Fast, simply, opens problematic dcm images, especially multiframe and compressed.

Let me have one suggestion due to exporting feature: consider adding another option which allows decompression from JPEG2000 to default ELE transfer syntax when exporting opened images to dcm format. Some older workstations cannot handle compressed images.

Best regards!

Thank you, Damian! I appreciate your complement. Let's just hope it's gonna be a living legend that will go on and on ;-) We still have quite a lot of items in our to-do list.

As for the DICOM export with conversions, currently RadiAnt can only copy source DICOM files to another location without processing them. When we have the DICOM writing engine ready you will be able to convert the files to any different transfer syntax. We're looking here at the date sometime next year, most probably.

Best regards,
Maciej
