RadiAnt is already able to read compressed DICOM cases in .zip format.
I'd suggest to extend this functionality to .7z format as well. (search 7-zip on Google)
this is a more effective compression format that can be used to further reduce the size of DICOM cases.
an MRI case of 573 files which requires 213 MB of disk space can be reduced to 62 MB in .zip format and 43 MB in .7z file.
that means that .7z allows an additional 30% disk space reduction in respect to .zip.
7-Zip is open source software so maybe they can help you to make RadiAnt compatible to the .7z format

Tommy, you're right, it can be done. Added to the long to-do list :-)

I'm happy you heared my suggestion.
If you implement it, RadiAnt will be the first DICOM viewer able to handle .7z compressed files.

Hi! Great work on Radiant. Just would like to remind that 7z is being used more and more. If Radiant could open 7z files it would be perfect.
Keep up the fantastic work!
