Hi there, I've noticed that sometimes the time RadiAnt spends loading a case from PACS varies if that is the first time you load that case into a session or it's a subsequent download attempts.
I made some tests with my PACS; in order to be sure there were no network traffic interferences I was the only PC active in my workplace and I replicate the same tests over 3 different computers of my network.
Let's say you wanna download from PACS an MRI of John Doe... it's an MRI composed of 535 files with a total weight of 291 MB...
the first attempt takes 50 seconds...
from second attempt it takes only 31 seconds...
why the speed varies? is there a kind of cache for recently downloaded cases, so it is faster if you downalod them twice?

It's difficult to tell without some local tests. However, this might be caused by caching on your PACS server. The first time the series is downloaded, the PACS server has to access the files on the disk. The next time, they are served from RAM.

this makes sense... it's probably a RAM thing.
