Where are downloaded files stored?

If we download an exam from archive, where is it stored on the local hard drive? Is there some sort of purge mechanism to keep the hard drive from filling up?

All files received from PACS servers are stored in a temporary folder (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\RadiantViewer\tmp\) which is purged as soon as RadiAnt is closed.
