It seems I'm not very lucky with USB and external HD using RadiAnt...
In the last weeks I started using an USB 3.0 external HD (a WD MyPassport Ultra) as an external portable RadiAnt database.
in the last few days I've noticed this annoying issue... after loading a case and viewing images, at random time, all the viewports turn black with a "This image is no longer available" alert and there's no way to reload them again...
the preview thumbs are still visible on the left bust drag & drop is ineffective.
so every time I have to close RadiAnt, restart it and reload the case, but after a variable time it happens again...
It seems RadiAnt "looses" connection to the USB HD... I tried to change the USB cable but nothing happens...
maybe it's an issue of the USB HD itself... so next step will be to buy a brand new and see if it happens again but I wanted to tell this to the devs so they can investigate if there's something buggy on the RadiAnt side too...
when the issue happens the USB HD is still visibile and browsable from "My PC" so it seems it's not really disconnected...
only RadiAnt looses connection...
as far as I know that USB disk is a 3 years old conventional external hard-drive not a SSD disk...
I wonder if those disks can have a sort of time out and go into "sleep mode" after a certain amount of time if the user has no interaction with them and thus leading to RadiAnt disconnection

It seems that your connection with the USB drive is unstable. RadiAnt detects when the media (CD or USB drive) is ejected and invalidates images located on the media to prevent issues with accessing non-existent files.

I face the same problem. I receive images from Xray console through network.Every time a new study is sent, all previous studies become 'blank', though their thumbnail is visible in the study list. Need to restart radiantviewer and resend the study - which will show the image successfully.

You might want to check if there are any issues with your USB drive. When it gets disconnected (event temporarily), the images are invalidated and need to be reloaded.
